At the end of an international competitive procurement process led by SABCA during 2006, on behalf of the Air component of Belgian Defense, ENERTEC was selected early 2007 for the supply of digital video recorders as a replacement to existing analog video tape recorders.
ENERTEC is particularly proud of this cooperation with SABCA, one of the leading European companies for design, development and production of aerospace equipment, systems and aircraft.
The Belgian Air Force now operates a full fleet of Alpha Jet "Plus" aircraft with modernized avionics, soon to be fitted with the VS1500 recorder. France and Belgium cooperate for fighter and transport aircraft pilot training within the AJeTS (Advanced Jet Training School), that is one of the major European defense cooperation projects. The 29 modernized Alpha-Jet of the Air component of Belgian Defense are used to train Belgian and French pilots in the Cazaux French Air Force Base, south-west of France near Bordeaux.
The VS1500 series recorders offer the best in technology, in innovation and in reliability, and meet the comprehensive needs of Forces for day-to-day operation on board aircraft, helicopters and UAVs. The VS1500 is available in the IRIG 106 Chapter 10 configuration.
VS1500 recorders were selected by US Air Force for the whole A-10 fleet, by BAE Systems for the UK RAF Hawk Mk 128 trainers, by the Finnish Air Force (FiAF) for the Hawk Mk51 fleet, by AIRBUS for flight tests, by DASSAULT Falcon Services, etc.
